In the enchanting setting of the village of Montfort, our charming guest house in the Dordogne enjoys an ideal location, far from any hustle and bustle, yet only 4 kilometres from Sarlat.
From our house, you can easily visit the major tourist sites for which our region is famous. The medieval town of Sarlat and the picturesque villages of La Roque-Gageac, Domme and Beynac are just a short drive or bike ride away. The most sumptuous châteaux in the Dordogne Valley and France’s most remarkable prehistoric sites (Grottes de Lascaux, Les Eyzies…) are less than 30km away.
From our house, you can walk down to the Dordogne River for a canoe trip or a swim. Footpaths and small roads invite hikers, cyclists and joggers to go for lovely walks…

Welcome to our home
In love with the Périgord Noir, we moved here in 2011. For 11 years, we’ve had a wonderful experience as owners of a family campsite. We love the region, we love the people.
It was an obvious choice to continue our business by taking over a guest house.
We fell in love with La Barde Montfort. The charm of the house, the ambience and comfort of its rooms, its lush garden, its uninterrupted view of the Château de Montfort, the peace and quiet of the place while being only 5 minutes from Sarlat, all combine to make it an exceptional place to live and spend your holidays.
