{"id":1963,"date":"2023-09-11T08:45:24","date_gmt":"2023-09-11T08:45:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.labardemontfort.com\/?p=1963"},"modified":"2025-02-20T15:58:57","modified_gmt":"2025-02-20T15:58:57","slug":"the-montfort-loop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.labardemontfort.com\/en\/the-montfort-loop\/","title":{"rendered":"The Montfort Loop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"sublabel lazylate\"><span style=\"color: #566276;\">Hike starting from our house<\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2><span style=\"color: #bba253;\">The Montfort Loop<\/span><\/h2>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>Departing from our <strong>guest house, La Barde Montfort<\/strong>, the Montfort loop <strong>walk<\/strong> takes you through the different landscapes of our village of <strong>Vitrac<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Your first steps will take you to the charming hamlet of <strong>Montfort<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll continue through the undergrowth, where you&#8217;ll have a fine view of <strong>Montfort castle<\/strong>, followed by a panoramic view of the Vitrac valley. Halfway along the route, you&#8217;ll come to <strong>Vitrac Bourg<\/strong>, and make a slight diversions to get closer to the church and its beautiful houses. Then take the path that leads to the cemetery and the entrance to the <strong>Domaine de Rochebois<\/strong>. The narrow road takes you past the <strong>Rochebois golf course<\/strong> and the La Sagne campsite. A few metres further on, you&#8217;ll come to the banks of the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong> and a magnificent view of the <strong>Caudon<\/strong> cliffs. At the <strong>Caudon beach<\/strong>, where the Soleil Plage canoe base (our partner) is located, take a small road that crosses the Soleil Plage campsite and leads to a small path on the plain. Climb back up through the undergrowth to reach the small road that runs behind our garden.<\/p>\r\n<p>This short walk of just 8 km is accessible to all.
